The cast of Machinal prepares to open next month.
One month from today, Shellscrape Theatre Company will kick off its 2nd season with an adaptation of Sophie Treadwell’s Machinal written and directed by Elaine Rava. The show will run from 12/6 to 12/7 at Areté Venue and Gallery in Brooklyn, NY.
The cast is made up of six emerging theatre artists based in NYC, who hail from several countries around the world including; Portugal, Canada, the Bahamas, and the U.S. In the rehearsal room, Director Elaine Rava asks the cast, “How is [Machinal] a reflection of where we’re living and where we’re at today?” Answers from the cast included key words such as; polarization, complacency, accountability, awareness, violence, and tradition.
You won’t want to miss out on Shellscrape’s first production of the 2018-2019 season! There are only 30 tickets available each night - and they will go fast. Tickets are on sale now with the added option to donate to Shellscrape via Fractured Atlas.
